“How do you tell stories within metre-thick walls?”

This was the question on our minds when we began planning “The Bastion of Liberty” at the newly opened Citadella Budapest.

The new permanent exhibition covers thirteen centuries of Hungarian history across an area of around 1,700 m². For the usomo team, this meant integrating 220 usomo systems into a historic fortress with walls up to one metre thick and expansive vaults — whilst creating an experience in which the technology itself takes a back seat.

That is exactly what we are all about. Technology shouldn’t be about impressing people. It should tell stories and move people — so naturally that, in the end, only the experience itself remains in the memory.
