The rock’n’popmuseum Gronau stages a compact special exhibition on the topic of disco history and club culture. With the extravagant title “D.I.S.C.O. Cool – Chic – Crazy”, the exhibition is a mosaic-like journey through the world of nightclubs and disco music.
As in several preceding exhibitions, the museum makes use of the interactive spatial sound system usomo. The headphone-based sound system guides the visitors by interactive localisation like in a real discotheque from the bouncer past the wardrobe with eccentric outfits of the disco era to the dancefloor with the DJ booth that interactively plays various famous disco hits. Beyond that, the exhibition showcases interviews with protagonists of the scene, vintage sound carriers, photographs, videos and other authentic exhibits.
