usomo can be experienced live since Friday, January 24th at the CTM Festival 2020. On 1.800 sqm in the Botanical Garden Berlin. Under tropical conditions the sound installation “You Will Go Away One Day But I Will Not” by Lucrecia Dalt and Maria Thereza Alves was realized immersively and spatially by usomo. A amazing 360° tropical sound experience! A must for all sound designers and Berliners.

In this sound installation the two artists Lucrecia Dalt (Colombia) and Maria TherezaAlves (Brazil/USA) deal with the world of the plants in the Botanical Garden. In their work “You Will Go Away One Day But I Will Not” they thematise the journeys of plants and people, plant names and their origins and their own aesthetic approach to nature. For ten days starting 24th of January 2020, visitors can discover the 360° sound installation inspired by the tropics in the tropical house of the Botanical Garden Berlin.

The work is presented within the framework of the “Natur. Nach Humboldt” initiative, a project celebrating the 250th anniversary of Alexander von Humboldt by presenting modern perspectives on the scientist and naturalist’s holistic approach to nature. It is commissioned by the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Botanic Garden & Botanical Museum Berlin, Die Junge Akademie, Deutschlandfunk Kultur, and CTM Festival, with spatial sound production from usomo | unique sonic moments.
